The TWOSOME skirt is an asymmetrical zerowaste pattern that is marked straight onto the fabric. This special technique developed by Cris Wood doesn’t require any paper patterns and is super easy and fun to work with. The size is defined by a simple formula that determines the fabric requirements. Once you get comfortable with the pattern and process, you can start making whatever alterations you please. This is a very accessible and beginner-friendly project!
Cris Wood is the sole designer for Cris Wood Sews, based in Seattle. She is inspired by clean lines, clever construction, and the unconventional. In her designs, Cris prioritizes accessibility: designing with no size limits and always with beginning-level sewists in mind. Cris believes that the future of fashion design is moving towards ecological responsibility, and she encourages members of the sewing community to consider their personal sewing footprint. She’s proud to be part of the zero- and minimal-waste pattern movement.

Fit and size:
This design has no size limits. It has an ease of 13.25"/33.5 cm from the low hip measurement. Be sure to take current hip and waist measurements for the correct fit. Fabric recommendations:
Choose non-stretch woven fabrics, midweight to bottom weight cottons with structure, lightweight canvas, cotton jacquard, quilting weight cottons, light-weight denim, mid-weight and heavy-weight linens, or mid-weight woolens. We do not recommend using slippery fabrics with a fluid drape. Take care with directional prints, as the side panel hangs at an angle. The petrol blue sample is made from “Organic Cotton Poplin Diesel” (3.7 oz/125 gsm) by Merchant & Mills from Lilly Paris. The light grey sample is made from a woven vintage fabric (100% cotton, approximately 4.7 oz/170 gsm).
