AURELIA by Mila Moisio
The AURELIA blouse, dress, and skirt are designed for comfy and elevated statement looks, and the variations make the design accessible for different skill sets. If you are just getting started with sewing, go for the AURELIA blouse. The design’s signature element, pleated sleeves, will create a total wow effect – though they are fairly simple to make. You can create a tunic variation by making a longer hem. The maxi dress requires a bit more time and patience as it is a fully lined and fitted piece. Both elegant and comfortable, the dress embraces different body types – so don’t be afraid to take up the challenge!
The maxi dress sample is made from lightweight “Orvokki Blue Cotton” (100% cotton, roughly 2.06oz/70 gsm) by Kauniste. The skirt is made from “Mercerized Ikat” (100% cotton, 2.65 oz/90 gsm) by Kind Cloth and the blouse is made from grey organic double gauze (100% cotton, 4.13 oz/140gsm) by Siebenblau.
The AURELIA is available in Issue No.6 and as a PDF pattern.

MARSUPIAL by Carly Dean
Carly Dean is an architect, bag-maker, and sewing pattern designer based in Basel, Switzerland. Working with existing materials and minimizing waste is a common thread that connects all of Carly’s creative endeavours. The MARSUPIAL belt is no exception: the bag is made from a single rectangular piece of fabric and only produces 2% scrap. The MARSUPIAL belt is a bag for the studio, the garden, or everyday use. It is designed to be worn around the waist and rest on the upper leg, combining the practicality of a utility belt and the elegance of an exterior pocket. You can easily customize the numerous compartments to fit the objects you carry around most.
The denim sample (version A) is made from “Dry Oilskin Cotton” (7.2 oz/244 gsm) by Merchant & Mills with silver rings and a zipper. The light blue sample (version B) is made from “Bio Canvas Natur-Blau” (8.55 oz/290 gsm) by Lebenskleidung with brass rings. All materials are from Ying Design.
The MARSUPIAL is available in Issue No.6

SPIRITS by Annukka Lahti
SPIRITS is Annukka’s first design for TAUKO. These self-dyed trousers made from old sheets depict the spirits of the waves of life. For more formal events, choose a lightweight wool to give these trousers a gorgeous yet relaxed look and feel. The SPIRITS trousers are easy to make and cozy for everyday use. Between sweats and wide-leg trousers, the stretchy waist of this pull-on design creates a feeling of comfort. They are perfect with either a ruffled or straight leg – the pattern is the same for both variations.
The dark sample is made from medium-weight 100% wool crepe fabric in navy blue from Minerva and the tie-dyed sample is made from a cotton-polyester blend (4.13 oz/140 gsm) from the designer’s stash.
The SPIRITS trousers are available in Issue No.6 and as PDF pattern.

JORDAN by Madeline Southwick
The JORDAN overalls are inspired by the clothing women wore during WWII. Historical fashion has always influenced the US-based pattern designer Madeline Southwick, and it frequently inspires her designs. Madeline is a selftaught designer who spends her free time – when not chasing around her two toddlers – creating sewing patterns. When designing the JORDAN overalls, she kept comfort in mind by including an elastic waistband in the back. Some special details of this pattern are the straight-back shoulder straps and the slightly cropped bib paired with the straight-leg trousers.
The black sample was made from woven “Cupro Linen Lyocell” (35% cupro, 35% linen, 30% Lyocell, 5 oz/170 gsm). The denim sample was made from “Natural Stretch Bull Denim” (98% cotton, 2% spandex, 12 oz/407 gsm). Both fabrics by Salt Lake Sewciety.
The JORDAN overalls are available in Issue No.6 and as PDF pattern.

LYNN by Emily Klug
The LYNN vest is a modern take on workwear: practical and functional. The modular, zero-waste design lends itself to the straightforward style of workwear while also allowing the maker to add personal touches. The reversible LYNN vest is designed using zero-waste pattern techniques that utilize almost all of the required fabric to make the garment. Due to its modular design, you can easily lengthen or shorten the vest by equally adjusting the length of the front panels, back panel, and side panels
The samples are made using heavy-weight linen (7.1 oz/240 gsm) for the main fabric and all-purpose medium-weight linen (5.3 oz/180 gsm) for the lining. Size 3–4 is made using “4C22 Insignia Blue Softened” and “IL019 Agave FS Signature Finish” . Size 5–6 is made using “4C22 Bleached Soften” and “IL019 Wisteria FS Signature Finish” . All fabrics are from the Fabrics Store.

ARTIST by Hedvig Rivó and Magdalena Neuhauser / Analog imperfections
Swiss-based designer Hedvig Rivó has a background in architecture and Magdalena Neuhauser is a mathematician. Their version of the work coat is a garment that can accompany you during your work day, your creative activities, and while drinking coffee with friends. The ARTIST coat has all the classical elements of a work coat. Most importantly, it features large pockets with enough space for your tools. The shortened sleeves and minimalist form make it recognizably modern. The designers have replaced buttons with ribbons that are attached to the inside of the coat, making the pattern accessible for beginners.
The light green sample is made from 100% raw silk noil (4.54 oz/154 gsm) and the dark green sample is made from MeetMILK’s “Tencel Sera Weighty Cotton Blend” in emerald and deep green (50% Tencel, 50% organic cotton, 8.85 oz/300 gsm). Both fabrics are from Atelier Goldfaden.
The ARTIST coat is available in Issue No.6

LUCE by Kaisa Rissanen
At first glance, the LUCE trousers look like a skirt. A wide, asymmetrical cut, soft yet durable materials, and carefully thought-out details are at the core of this versatile garment. TAUKO’s head of design Kaisa Rissanen loves to relax by having a cup of coffee and browsing through art, architecture, and design books. She sees art as a never-ending source of inspiration: an amazing channel to express creativity and a playground for the imagination.
The black sample is made from pleated jersey (65% polyester, 35% viscose, 8.8 oz/250 gsm) from Un chat sur un fil and from satin cotton (5.9 oz/200 gsm) from the designer’s stash. The turquoise sample is made from a reused polycotton bedsheet (4.13oz/140 gsm) from the designer’s stash.
The LUCE trousers are available in Issue No.6 and as PDF pattern.

BERKELEY by Eli Clavreul
The BERKELEY studio shirt is Eli’s first pattern and its inspiration comes from her childhood in France. In her early school years, Eli used to wear a long plastic shirt to paint, draw with crayons, work with clay, or conduct any sort of creative activity that could stain her clothes. Eli remembers the excitement of wearing it vividly, and she wanted to create a big-kid version: an easy, fun, and inspiring garment for adults to wear.
The blue sample shirt is made from Merchant & Mills’ “Jetty EU Linen” (5 oz/170 gsm) from Cross & Woods. The green sample is made from “Viskose Stone Washed Light” (90% viscose, 10% polyester, 3.69 oz/125 gsm) from 1000stoff.
The BERKELEY studio shirt is available in Issue No.6

PARABOLIC by Alex Schaufele
The PARABOLIC shirt is a twist on a studio staple: the button-up work shirt. Depending on your fabric choice, it can take you straight from the studio to the gallery reception. The shirt is designed with a deeply curved hem to afford easy access to pockets while also providing coverage to the front and back of the body. It also has permanently cuffed sleeves to keep them from dragging through paint or getting caught on tools. You can throw on this staple as a protective layer while working or wear it as a slightly oversized shirt. In Alex Schaufele’s experiences taking studio classes and in her work managing gallery spaces, she frequently wished she had a shirt like this. Utility garments are often designed for practicality, abandoning aesthetics. Alex hopes that the curved seams bring an interesting detail to this otherwise classic work shirt.
The green sample is made from “Sand Washed Cotton Crepe” (4.7 oz/160 gsm) and the white sample is made from “Oatmeal Linen” (4.86 oz/165 gsm). Both fabrics are from Firecracker Fabrics.
The PARABOLIC shirt is available in Issue No.6

OVER–IT by Bren Larsen
The OVER-IT dress draws inspiration from the Japanese kappōgi apron, the traditional painter’s smock, and pinafores found on American prairies. When designing the dress, Bren hoped to create something practical yet polished – for creative mess-making. The construction of this piece includes French seams and an enclosed bodice, both of which are often reserved for dressier pieces. OVER-IT elevates the apron into something a little more special.
The light grey polka-dot sample is made from “Organic Double Gauze Small Polka Dots Grey-White” (100% organic cotton, GOTS certified, 3.54 oz/120gsm) from Siebenblau. The green sample is made from “Essex Yarn Dyed Linen Seafoam” (55% linen, 45% cotton, 5.6oz/190 gsm) from Stoffträume4you.
The OVERT-IT dress is available in Issue No.6
