May Community Meeting

Theme: Vintage fabric projects

Are you using vintage fabrics for your projects, or would you like to explore the possibilities hidden in second-hand textiles? If so, this meeting is for you!

This month, we welcome textile artist Ali Ferguson, whose work is deeply rooted in the history and memory of vintage home textiles. The hand-embroidered letters, small stains, and worn-out parts of the materials she collects become part of her artistic message, honouring the past while creating something new. Ali’s perspective brings a poetic and beautiful layer to the discussion of working with vintage fabrics—one that values not just the fabric itself, but the stories and hands that shaped it.

When? 21st May
Time? 18:00 Helsinki time
Where? Online – open & free for all!

This session is a feature from Issue No.15, bringing the conversation beyond the magazine pages. Join us as we delve into the meaning, materiality, and creative possibilities of vintage textiles!
