The LOÏE blouse features a unique yoke with no shoulder seams and delicate gathers at the front and back for a touch of romance. The yoke is fully lined for a beautiful, neat finish. The sleeves have an opening from the elbow to the cuff, revealing your arms. For a different look, you can skip the cuff and create a hem for a flared finish. Topstitching is optional and can be omitted for a simpler design. The LOÏE design is easy to alter, making it a perfect project for sewists of all levels.

Juliette Gallois is a French ballet dancer living in Paris who decided to broaden her skills and learn to make patterns professionally during the 2020 quarantine. The way a garment moves on the body is key to Juliette. Each piece she designs is directly linked to a feeling, a fabric, and a movement when worn.

Juliette draws her patterns in the same way that novels are written. Each design is linked to a story that defines the atmosphere she wants to express. She is often inspired by period films, music, dance, and theatre. The LOÎE blouse is named after Loïe Fuller, one of the first known dancers to create the “Serpentine Dance”, a choreography that combines movement, fabric, and light.

From each pattern purchase, we give 50% to the designer. Our goal is to support independent creatives and promote a democratic and open society.

Fabric Recommendations:
LOÏE can be adapted to different types of woven and non-stretch fabrics. For a lighter and more airy look, choose a light cotton, satin, silk, or viscose from 2.36 oz/70 gsm to 6.34 oz/180 gsm. The rose sample is made in “Dobby Blush” (100% viscose, 4.23 oz/120 gsm). The multicoloured sample is made in “Waterlilly Night” (100% viscose, 4.23 oz/120 gsm). Both fabrics from Atelier Brunette. If you use a lighter fabric, we recommend using interfacing for the yoke, cuffs, and button tab.
