This pattern has three designs in one: the AURELIA blouse, dress, and skirt are designed for comfy and elevated statement looks, and the variations make the design accessible for different skill sets.
Mila Moisio is TAUKO’s editor-in-chief and one of the founders. The AURELIA dress was inspired by a beautiful photograph of Pina Bausch by Walter Vogel in 1966. She is wearing a fitted boat-neck dress with voluminous sleeves.

Fit and size:
For the AURELIA dress and skirt, choose your size based on your waist circumference. Add a recommended positive ease of 1.2–2"/3–5 cm. Pick the size that is the best match for your waist. For the AURELIA blouse, choose your size based on your bust circumference. Add a recommended positive ease of 5.9–8.5"/15–22 cm. Pick the size that is the best match for your bust.Maryna Makarenko is 65"/166 cm tall and wears the flower-printed AURELIA dress in size 2, she wears the AURELIA blouse in size 2 in light grey. Maria González Leal is 61"/156 cm tall and wears the AURELIA skirt in size 5.
Fabric recommendations:
For the main fabric of the dress and skirt, choose a light to medium-weight woven fabric. Shirting fabrics, cottons, and poplins work well. Some stiffness and structure will help with the sleeves. You can also make the skirt from linen for a more organic and relaxed look. For the lining, choose a smooth, lightweight woven fabric such as satin. The blouse works best with soft woven fabrics like double gauze. It’s also great when made from knits. For the sleeve lining, you can use the same fabric as for the blouse itself or choose a lighter fabric if needed. For a more structured look, make the blouse from cotton poplin.
The maxi dress sample is made from lightweight “Orvokki Blue Cotton” (100% cotton, roughly 2.06 oz/70 gsm) by Kauniste. The skirt is made from “Mercerized Ikat” (100% cotton, 2.65 oz/90 gsm) by Kind Cloth and the blouse is made from grey organic double gauze (100% cotton, 4.13 oz/140 gsm) by Siebenblau.
